Interview with Dr. Thomas Treutler


Since its foundation in 2009, the VeMEMaS GmbH has been continuously increasing its customer base and also its network. In this regard, we have established valuable partnerships in recent years benefiting our customers.

Since 01.03.2012, Dr. Thomas Treutler works for the VeMEMaS GmbH. This fact is reason enough to introduce him to our customers.

VeMEMaS: "Mr. Treutler, your are our representative in Columbia. Baden-Wuerttemberg and Columbia, that's not what you would call, close by. Would you please let us know which function you have in the VeMEMaS GmbH?"

Treutler: "I see myself as a contact for the whole of the South American region and not just for Columbia. Since the beginning of 2009, I live and work in Medellin in the northwest of Columbia. In South America and in particular in Columbia, many things have changed in recent years - when it comes to safety and infrastructure the country is booming. Currently very interesting markets are developing here which are also attractive for German companies. My function is to support these companies here on site."

VeMEMaS: "Which form could this support take?"

Treutler: "Whether it be the analysis of market or sales opportunities via license contracts and the development of joint ventures or the setting up of a production for various industries, I can put together important facts here on site, and when doing this, naturally also make use of a wide network. Being a physicist, I contribute my technical know-how as well as my supplementary knowledge from the food sector and medical engineering."

VeMEMaS: "If I am right, you have also undergone additional trainings in the area of marketing, sales management and intercultural negotiations."

Treutler: "That is quite true. This in turn makes it possible for me to inform about complex matters and relationships clearly and comprehensively. My day-to-day business will therefore focus on making German companies aware of the South American market, search for suitable development potentials for these companies, organize trips abroad if there is interest and offer support on site with the implementation of plans and establishment of a German-Columbian network."

VeMEMaS: "So the procedure would be as follows: Initial discussions with German companies take place here in Germany directly with Mr. Borsik, and then we contact you and you will coordinate the projects on site in South America. This sounds quite exciting and also promising for our customers.
